Medhat Khalil
Chairman & CEO – Raya Holding

Medhat Khalil has dedicated his career to realizing a vision: Raya Holding. After 15 years holding top management positions with IBM Egypt, Khalil founded the pioneering IT companies Protech and Oratech in 1993 and 1997 respectively. In 1998, Protech and Oratech became two of the seven entities comprising Raya Holding. Medhat Khalil is a member of the National Sports Council, board member in the National Fund for Finance of Juniors, Youth, and Sports.

Ahmed Abd El Sattar
Raya International Services – CEO

Ahmed Abd El Sattar was appointed Raya International Services CEO in 2009. Before his current position, Abd El Sattar assumed several leading positions in Raya, the recent ones included General Manager Regional Consulting, General Manager of Strategic Projects, General Manager of Project Management at Raya Integration, Director of Professional Services for Raya IT, and Chief Operations Officer at Raya IT. From 1997 to 2003, Abd El Sattar moved his way up in Oratech for Information Technology, a subsidiary of Raya. He started his career with Raya in 1993 at Protech, implementing financial and retail systems. Abd El Sattar graduated from the Faculty of Communications and Electronics Communications, and obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in 2000.

Ahmed Imam
Raya Contact Center – CEO

In 1994, Ahmed Imam was responsible for the quality and cost controls for the production line of Alfa Electronics. In 1995, he was the Commissioning and Integration Engineer in Alcatel - TAS Italy (IRC) for three years supervising the equipment installation and system startup for the project of Greater Cairo Metro (line 2). Imam started his career with Raya in Unitech in 1998. In 2000, he assumed the position of Customer Service Operation GM in Raya Telecom. He also held the position of Care Director for Nokia Authorized Partner. Before being appointed the position of CEO of Raya Contact Center, Imam assumed the position of Maintenance Managing Director from 2006 to 2009. He graduated from Ain Shams University with a Bachelor’s degree of Communications and Electronics Engineering and holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Ayman El Halaby
Raya Trade – CEO

Ayman El Halaby was appointed Raya Trade CEO in Jan 2010. As the Chief Operations Officer of Raya Trade from 2008 till 2009, El Halaby managed five subsidiaries of Raya namely Raya Distribution, Raya Retail, Raya Maintenance, Raya Algeria and Raya Nigeria. In addition, El Halaby was the Managing Director for Raya Distribution and held several sales managerial positions at Raya. El Halaby obtained an MBA from Maastricht School of Management, diploma from Harvard Business School of Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Cairo University.

Hesham Abd El Rassoul
Raya Information Technology - CEO

In his capacity as CEO, Hesham Abdel Rassoul holds an instrumental role by leading Raya’s Information Technology line of business to provide the ideal mix of technology solutions to meet the unique requirements of business operations. Abdel Rassoul joined Raya in 1998. With his strong track record, previously and until September 2007, he held the position of Raya Integration’s General Manager & Director of Infrastructure where he developed a high caliber team that was responsible for designing and implementing solutions for all the Infrastructure projects. Abdel Rassoul graduated from Engineering at Ain Shams University majoring in Telecommunications and is a member of the AmCham and BEBA associations.

Sahar El-Sallab
Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Commercial International Bank (CIB)

Sahar El-Sallab has played a pivotal role in making CIB one of Egypt’s highest performing private sector banks. She joined CIB in 1981 from Citibank and has nearly 30 years of local and international banking experience. She is also the chairperson of CI Capital Holding, and a member of CIB’s high policy committee. Ms. El-Sallab earned her degree in business administration from the American University in Beirut in 1974.

Khaled Shash
CEO – BariQ

Since the inception of contact center services in Raya, Khaled Shash has been closely involved in monitoring and directing all operations. Prior to that, he was the General Manager for Systems Engineering & Integration at Raya Integration. Before joining Raya, Shash had spent over 10 years in Research and Development Management in Giza Systems. Some of the major projects he has participated in and lead during nearly two decades of IT experience included the main billing platform for Egyptian GSM operator Click, the automation of the 1997 Junior World Cup tournament in Egypt, automation of Cairo Airport’s Customs Department and the Arabization of many of DIGITAL’s product lines for the Middle Eastern market. Shash graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of Cairo University in 1983. He currently is the CEO of BariQ a plastic recycling company with EGP 40 million capital and EGP 10 million paid in capital.

Mohamed Fares
Raya Smart Buildings – CEO

Mohamed Fares was appointed Raya Smart Buildings CEO in Jan 2010. As the CEO of Raya Trade from 2007 till 2009, Fares led five subsidiaries of Raya namely Raya Distribution, Raya Retail, Raya Maintenance, Raya Algeria and Raya Nigeria. Previously, Fares held the position of CFO of Raya Holding; as well as Head of Raya’s IT support function. Moreover, Fares was the Managing Director of Raya Telecom for 5 years and is considered the key person behind its establishment in the year 2000 and its spin off in year 2006. Prior to that, Fares held several technical, sales and managerial positions at SITA, NCR and the Triangle Group and played a significant role in the development of the communications industry in Egypt. Fares obtained 2 Management diplomas from Harvard Business School and the American University in Cairo, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer & Electrical Engineering.

Reem Asaad
Raya Holding – Director of Corporate Communication and IT

After fifteen years of experience in information technology & financial services in multinationals in the USA and managing her own IT consulting firm, Reem Asaad returned back to Egypt and joined Raya in 2005. In a few years, she managed to hold a number of multifaceted positions in Raya Holding. In her current position as Raya Holding IT Director, she is responsible for Raya Holding IT strategy, including IT Infrastructure and Solutions Investments. In addition, she is the Corporate Communications Director heading the Investor Relations, Marketing and Corporate Communications departments. She was elected Corporate Secretary of the Board of Directors in 2007 to present. She is a Certified Director & Corporate Governance Consultant from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Founder and Board Member of EIRA (Egyptian Investor Relations Association), and member of the AmCham, BEBA and the German Chamber of Commerce. Asaad graduated from the University of Houston in Texas in 1993 and conducted her higher education studies at University of Texas.

Samer El Waziri
Raya Holding - CFO

Samer El Waziri currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of Raya Holding. El Waziri played a key role as part of the management team who has been achieving significant financial returns and building the company that is nowadays considered one of the strongest IT and Telecommunications companies in the region. Previously and until December 2005, El Waziri held the position of Finance Director and Board Member of GlaxoSmithKline. El Waziri has 29 years of experience in financial management, including the interpretation of financial data relevant to manufacturing and marketing, evaluation and general coordination of corporate investment decisions and strategic planning. El Waziri holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Cairo University. Mr. Waziri also obtained a management diploma from Harvard Business School.

Tamer Badrawi
CEO - OSTOOL

Tamer Badrawi graduated from the AUC with a degree in Construction & Construction Management Engineering in 1995. He then joined (MAC) one of the factories of Oriental Weaver Group and assumed the role of Senior Export Manager in charge of the European & Russian market .Tamer later went private in 2001 and set up C3, Egypt’s first Oustourcable call center, where he assumed the role of founding partner and managing director until the company was sold to Raya in 2009. From 2009 until 2010 Tamer integrated into Raya Holding as the Director of Business Development until he set up the transportation line of business in RAYA, and set up OSTOOL Transport where he assumes the role of CEO.
